At
the Texas Pain Institute, each patient receives one-on-one,
individualized care. A physician trained in pain management
visits with each patient during the initial examination
to determine the source, nature and severity of the pain,
as well as the patient's medical history. He then recommends
treatment options that are based on an individual's own
lifestyle and realistic expectations, taking into account
both the psychological and physiological aspects of pain.
Continuity of Care
To support the important and ongoing relationship between
doctor and patient, each patient's referring physician
is updated on the prescribed treatment. In this way,
TPI can help assure that any procedures or medications
it recommends are consistent with the patient's medical
history.
